Our Drive Electric B-Earthday event is so that those who are curious can talk to those who already own an EV and find out what it's like to drive electric day in and day out. There will be many different types of EVs. 

You'll see why most EV owners think their vehicles are the coolest cars ever made.Vernon County Energy District is celebrating it's 4th anniversary, there will be cake!

Once again River Falls will be hosting a Drive Electric Earth Month (DEEM) event in partnership with Earth Fest 2024 and the River Falls Bluegrass Festival.  Due to limitations in physical space for vehicles, we will be having several areas where current EV owners can interact with potential owners.  We are looking for EV owners who would volunteer to:

• provide a short EV shuttle service to the event from parking lots
• display their EV outside the building
• staff a booth all about EV charging and rebates

Here is your chance to participate in a Drive Electric Earth Month event, hosted by Drive $mart Wisconsin and Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Association on Saturday, April 20, 2024, for Gateway Technical College-Kenosha's Celebrate Earth Day event, which should be the largest Earth Day celebration in SE Wisconsin this year.

Hydro Park is the location again this year and assisting with the show is Kaukauna Electric Company. We also expect visits from Appleton Solar, plus having the Mayor speak again at our event. The farmers market is one block away and is concurrent with our show. Last year we had a record number of cars which took all of our allotted parking spaces and we had three rows of cars in the park itself in the grass. We look forward to presenting another great event for 2023 on September 23rd.

“Remembering the Past, while Looking to the Future”

Drive $mart Wisconsin is proud to have been invited to host the EV Display for the City of Greenfield’s 7TH Annual Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Konkel Park in Greenfield WI. This is the first time that a major Classic Car Show will have Electric Vehicles on display in Wisconsin. We expect over 400 classic cars to be on display and 1,500 attendees for this year’s Show.

Drive $mart Wisconsin has hosted over 10 DEED/NDEW events in the past and anticipates around 25 Electric Vehicles on display at this event. Any Electric Vehicle from the year 2000 to the present can be in this Car Show, which is not an official NDEW event. We look forward to having some 1st generation Electric Vehicles on display. There is a nominal City of Greenfield $10 registration fee for any EV in the Show that can be paid the day of the Show at check-in.

Drive $mart Wisconsin believes that this is a great opportunity to have area residents learn about EVs, their benefits, their costs, and their downsides from the best source available, EV owners themselves. This is an opportunity to, one on one, have EV owners help dismiss the false claims out there about EVs and to begin the education of the public about clean transportation options.

Drive $mart Wisconsin will also be promoting its $mart Eco-Driving skills that can save ICE drivers 10 to 30% on gas costs and lower emissions at the same time. These same $mart Eco-Driving skills can extend the range of any EV by 10-30% as well. D$W members will be on hand to talk about these skills and hand out information on $mart Eco-Driving as well.

Anyone displaying an Electric Vehicle at this Greenfield Car Show will appreciate joining in remembering some of the classic cars of the past that we grew up with, but more importantly, give the attendees a chance to glimpse the Electric Vehicles that are currently available and the future of transportation.

Even if you do not own an Electric Vehicle, we are also looking for volunteers that can help make this EV Display part of this Greenfield Car Show a success while at the same time learning about EVs yourself. In the event of rain on Sept.9, this Greenfield Car Show will be held the following Saturday, Sept. 16.

Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services is excited to partner with three other local organizations, St. Croix Electric Cooperative, University of Wisconsin-River Falls Office of Sustainability, and Hope for Creation, to host the 2023 Powered by Electricity event. This is our third annual Powered by Electricity event. This year's event will include speakers presenting on topics such as solar energy and beneficial electrification. We will have round-table discussions featuring EV owners. EV test rides.

For the second year there will be a National Drive Electric Week event in Prairie du Chien, WI. Anybody and everybody who is curious about EVs is welcome to attend this free event. Last year we had about 10 cars and about 40 people attend. Lets double that this year! Tell your neighbors, your friends, your relatives, even your pastor! Come down to the Prairie Cinema where we will display EVs for you to look at, sit in, and (depending on how comfortable the owner is) ride in or drive an EV for yourself. Learn about the fuel savings, maintenance benefits, and how EVs are helping to save the planet by reducing carbon emissions by up to HALF over comparable gas powered cars.

Join Wisconsin Clean Cities, Pieper Electric, Alliant Energy, and Drive Clean Indiana to learn about the EMPOWER Workplace Charging program, initial considerations for system installation, and how Ho-Chunk Casino has added EV charging to their facility.

Using Electric Vehicles (EV) and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) in the workplace and as a resource demonstrates benefits beyond the transportation industry. The EMPOWER Workplace Charging Program is a key step in addressing the adoption of EVs throughout Wisconsin.  Part of a national partnership between 32 Clean Cities Coalitions, and other key stakeholders, EMPOWER provides educational and technical assistance to entities looking to install electric vehicle charging stations.

Please join us on Wednesday, July 26 for our Wisconsin EV State Policy Bootcamp. The bootcamp will cover the wide-ranging benefits of electric vehicles, from individual vehicles to school and transit buses to fleets. We will also discuss the importance of electrifying vehicles in Wisconsin and the state policy opportunities for accelerating their deployment. Speakers from the public sector and industry will discuss the state of the market and technology, as well as the experiences of fleets that are transitioning to EVs, including municipalities, utilities, and private industry.
